Qoffee is a coffee journal. We collect the minimum we need to make the app work for you, we never sell your data, and you can export or delete everything at any time — right from the app. Here's exactly what we collect and why.
What we collect, and why
- Account: your email (to sign in and recover your account) and a username (your display name).
- Your coffee logs: the coffees you log and everything you add — ratings, brew method, tasting notes, origin, roast, venue, notes, photos. This powers your Log, stats, badges, and recommendations.
- Equipment & preferences: optional gear and settings you enter for more personal guidance.
- Location: only when you tap "find coffee near me." We send your coordinates to our places provider to fetch nearby shops, and we do not store your location.
- AI assistant (Jo) usage: we log token counts per request to enforce fair-use limits. We do not store your Jo conversations on our servers.
We do not collect contacts, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or background location.
Where your data goes
- Supabase — our database and authentication host.
- Anthropic (Claude) — when you chat with Jo or open Buzz, the relevant text is sent to generate a response. Anthropic does not train on this data via the API.
- Foursquare — receives your coordinates (only when you use Find Local) to return nearby shops.
- Apple — app distribution and, if enabled, push notifications.
We never sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Your controls
- See everything: export your full log as CSV anytime (Profile → Export my data).
- Delete everything: Profile → Delete account permanently removes your account and all your logs — immediately and irreversibly.
- Optional is optional: the app works without your photo, equipment, location, or extra log detail.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, logs, and usage records are deleted immediately.
Children
Qoffee is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
